MCU Theory Reveals Shang-Chi"s Ten Rings Are From The Oldest Kang Variant

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania! One new theory points to a connection between the Ten Rings from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Kang the Conqueror's variants. After years of teasing, the organization of the Ten Rings was finally seen in full during the MCU's Phase 4, with Xu Wenwu revealed to be the organization's true leader, not Iron Man 3's Trevor Slattery. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings also debuted the physical Ten Rings in the MCU, Hung Gar Iron Rings worn by Wenwu which grant him immortality, enhanced strength, and absolute power, though where the Ten Rings originated from is still a complete mystery.
While Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is working on both Marvel Studios' Wonder Man series, and Phase 6's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, a sequel to Shang-Chi has also been rumored to be in development. A potential Shang-Chi 2 project could uncover many mysteries surrounding the Ten Rings, including their origins and what powers they actually gift to their user. Even so, one theory from Reddit user dcarp1231 could have uncovered a secret connection between the Ten Rings and an ancient variant of the Multiverse Saga's major villain, Kang the Conqueror.
