Mike Flanagan Pitches DC Universe Batman Villain Movie To James Gunn

The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass creator Mike Flanagan has pitched a Batman villain-centric DC Universe movie to DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. As the DCEU is reaching its end, a new DC Universe is on its way. In late January, Safran and Gunn presented their first Chapter 1 projects for "Gods and Monsters." The mission is to create a more interconnected franchise in film and TV based on the DC properties. DC Studios will also continue to focus on Elseworlds franchises, including Matt Reeves' The Batman universe.
According to Deadline, Flanagan has pitched a Clayface movie to Gunn and Safran. The trade specified that nothing has been given a greenlight yet, nor are there any offers or deals. What complicates the prospect of a Flanagan Clayface movie is that the DC villain is "a big addition" in The Batman - Part II. At the time of this story's publication, DC Studios have yet to comment.
