Star Trek Finally Redeems Worf"s Honor From His Most Humiliating Scene
Worf suffered his greatest humiliation in
Star Trek: First Contact, but now his honor has been redeemed. The Klingon Emperor Kahless has begun living up to the legacy of his namesake by killing the god-like beings of the Star Trek universe - a conflict Worf has found himself increasingly drawn into, and in Star Trek #5, he learns his son has joined Kahless’ fanatical cult, leading to a tense showdown with Sisko, similar to the one he had with Captain Picard in First Contact - only Worf leaves with his honor intact.
The issue is written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, drawn by Ramon Rosanas and Erik Tamayo, colored by Lee Loughride and lettered by Clayton Cowles. In previous issues, Captain Sisko enlisted Worf’s help in stopping the god-killer, only to discover that the clone Emperor Kahless was behind it. Furthermore, Kahless has gathered a cult around him, called the Red Path - and as Sisko and the Defiant fight Kahless, a group of cultists beam over to the ship. During the fight, Worf learns his estranged son Alexander is a member of the Red Path, and this forces Worf to change his perspective. Worf cannot bring himself to kill Alexander, leading him to tell Sisko he will not fight. Sisko then relieves him of duty and kicks him off the bridge.
