The Dark Knight Rises Deleted Scene Would"ve Hurt What Made Bane So Cool
The Dark Knight Rises introduced Bane (Tom Hardy) as one of its villains, and the mystery around his origin story and the mask he was attached to was a big part of what made him so interesting and cool, but that would have been very different had one scene not been deleted from the final cut. After battling Ra’s al Ghul (Liam Neeson), Jonathan Crane (Cillian Murphy), and the Joker (Heath Ledger), Christian Bale’s Batman had to face Bane in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, and he was keeping a big secret as he was actually working alongside Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul (Marion Cotillard).
Bane arrived in Gotham City at a moment when Bruce Wayne had retired as Batman following the events of The Dark Knight, pushing Bruce to put on the costume again and get back into action, which was not easy as Bane was unlike any other villain Batman had met up to that point. Bane was a lot stronger, smarter, and ruthless than he seemed, and it was all due to his tragic backstory – but had a scene from his origin story been kept, he wouldn’t have given the same menacing image.
